The event
Launched at Casa da Cerca, in Almada, Portugal, CINE CERCA is a screenwriting residency, organized over three years (2020-2022), with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the the bilateral fund to support the co-production of Franco-Portuguese cinematographic works (2014-2022) of the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual and the Centre National du Cinéma.
Over the course of three editions, CINE CERCA supported French and Portuguese-speaking filmmakers in writing and developing their film projects, in all genres and formats. The residency took place for a month between Portugal and France, in two exceptional locations: the Córtex Frontal, in the Alentejo, and the Château de la Napoule, in the south of France (Côte d’Azur).
Two places with character, two environments conducive to productive work, which allowed the selected residents to get away from everyday life and be supported in the development of their projects by two professionals.
